Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) Western North Regional Secretariat has embarked on phase two of its Monitoring Exercise in beneficiary schools within the Bodi and Sefwi Wiawso Municipalities.

The monitoring team, led by the Western North Regional Coordinator of GSFP, Madam Comfort Nyarko, visited various beneficiary schools to assess the implementation of the programme and offer guidance to newly engaged caterers.

During the exercise, the team engaged caterers on the operational guidelines governing the school feeding initiative, with a focus on ensuring quality and consistency in meal preparation.

The team also inspected kitchen facilities, storage areas, and general hygienic conditions at the schools to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Speaking during the monitoring tour, Madam Comfort Nyarko emphasized the need for commitment and professionalism among caterers.

“Our goal is to ensure that every child receives nutritious and hygienically prepared meals every school day. This is not just a government policy, it’s a lifeline for many children in our communities. We expect caterers to adhere strictly to the guidelines, maintain high levels of cleanliness, and serve meals on time. Your role is crucial in the success of this programme,” she stated.

She also urged school authorities to collaborate closely with caterers and report any challenges for swift resolution.

The team also interacted with pupils and teachers to gather feedback and ensure that the programme continues to contribute positively to school enrolment, attendance, and retention.
