President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaian workers for their contribution towards the development of the country.
In his message to Ghanaian workers posted on his Facebook Thursday, May 1, 2025, to mark the Workers’ Day celebration, the President noted that “My government recognises and deeply values the pivotal role of the Ghanaian worker in driving our national development agenda.”
According to him, the workers are the fulcrum of the economy and recognises their contribution towards the nation’s development trajectory, assuring them of his commitment to support them to achieve his administration’s ‘Reset Agenda.”
“You are the engine of our economy, the builders of our infrastructure, and the innovators who propel us forward. I am, therefore, committed to creating a supportive environment that allows you to thrive and help Reset Ghana,” he stated.
With the theme “Striving for peace and stability to drive industrialisation, trade, and decent work for social justice,” President Mahama noted that this year’s celebration reflects a critical truth – the need to implement policies ensuring sustainable development and decent work and wages for all Ghanaians.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring every Ghanaian has a better job with a decent salary as part of his vision to reset the country, stating the recent launch of the National Apprenticeship Programme as part of the means to ensure that.
