The Busua township was awakened by sad news this morning following the discovery of a dead young man on the beach.

The deceased, believed to be in his early 30s, was found fully clothed with blood oozing from his nostrils.

The Assembly Member for the area, Evans Cudjoe, told Connect FM in Takoradi that their assessment suggested the man died recently. Residents suspect suicide.

According to Cudjoe, some residents reported seeing him wandering the previous day. They believe the deceased was mentally unwell and might have taken his own life.

Cudjoe described the scene: “From the look of the body, he might have died early this morning or last night. It looks quite strange to us because no one goes swimming fully clothed. He could have been under the influence of drugs, or perhaps someone attacked him.”

He continued: “Some residents claimed to have seen him walking in the streets; others saw him returning from their farms, and others saw him at the beach. The manager of a local resort said he saw him early this morning at the beach walking aimlessly. They thought he was mentally unwell.”

An elder of the community, Egya Amani, stated that no residents have been able to identify the deceased. He suspects the deceased was a tourist, as the beach area frequently receives visitors.

Police have been notified about the incident and are investigating.
