A collision between two vehicles at a traffic intersection via Anaji Choice Mart stretch on the Kansaworodu-Apollo junction dual road has left fourteen people badly injured.
The victims were hurriedly conveyed on three ambulances to the Kwesimintsim Government Hospital for emergency care.
The accident which occurred around 8:00pm [Friday 25 April.2025], involved a commercial Toyota Regius with registration number GW 4279 20; and an Audi A4 private saloon vehicle with registration number GW 4575 11.
Eyewitnesses say, the driver of the Audi vehicle had initiated a curve towards the Anaji Choice Mart only to collide with the Toyota Regius right at the intersection.
All fourteen passengers including the driver onboard the Toyota Regius bus were injured. All glass shields except the one on the driver’s door were shuttered upon impact.
For the Audi saloon car, only the driver sustained injury. Luckily, three kids, all believed to be under 12 years escaped unscathed. The saloon car has both ends dented.
The traffic signal at the time of the incident was dysfunctional due to power outage. Eyewitness attributed the accident to this phenomen, stressing that “both drivers had nothing to guide them on the road”.
The saloon vehicle has been towed, while the commercial bus has been moved a few yards away from the traffic intersection.
The Police had been to the scene to assess the situation. Investigations are ongoing.
