The King of Gonjaland, Jira Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I, has commended iValleyGhana and UNDP for fostering economic growth and empowering youth innovation in the Savannah Region of Ghana.

This commendation was made during a courtesy call by a delegation from iValley Ghana to brief the Yagbonwura on the rollout of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Young Africa Innovates Programme (YAI).

“It gladdens my heart to note that you are committed to supporting the youth of the region, particularly those in Damongo, where iValley is headquartered.”

He acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in empowering the youth and fostering development within the community.

“Every parent wants to see their children grow, and this programme I believe will contribute to the region’s development, and so I welcome and bless it.”

The programme aims to identify and support grassroots innovators, particularly youth, women, and persons with disabilities (PWDs), to foster economic growth and sustainable development in the Savannah Region.

During the visit, the Executive director of iValley Ghana, Prince Nabil Mahama highlighted the programme’s focus on identifying and nurturing innovations from youth, women, and persons living with disabilities between the ages of 18 – 35.

He emphasized the significant potential these innovations have to drive positive change and create employment opportunities.

“iValley’s is also making efforts in agriculture through the Agribusiness Accelerator Program, which aims to support local entrepreneurs in developing sustainable agricultural businesses,” he explained.

The visit underscores iValley Ghana’s dedication to fostering local partnerships and ensuring that its programmes resonate with the community’s needs.

As the YAI Programme kicks off, the collaboration between iValley Ghana, local leaders, and the UNDP promises to bring about meaningful and sustainable change for the people of the Savannah Region.

In addition to the meeting with the Yagbonwura, the iValley Ghana team visited other key stakeholders and traditional leaders, including Damongowura Kelley Seidu Boresa I, Kpembewura Babanŋe Ndefosu IV, Wasipewura Mumuni Anyame Kabasagya II, and Hon.
