John Dramani Mahama has assured the youth of Ghana that the future of the country is in their hands, and his next administration is bent on providing the avenue for them to thrive in their respective fields of endeavour.

Urging the youth as the catalyst for positive change, the former President said their actions and determination will present Ghana with the transformation it seeks.

Speaking at the launch of the party’s Youth Manifesto at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Monday, August 12, 2024, John Mahama admonished the youth to dream big and strive for higher heights, reminding the young ones of the enormity of the power they wield.

“You are the catalyst for positive change and through you, your inspiring actions and determination, we can bring about the transformation change that our world and our country desperately needs.

“Young people remember always to dream big, remember always to aim high and remember always to strive for greatness. The power you wield as a young Ghanaian is immense and powerful,” he stated.

He continued that “by unleashing your potential and embracing your destiny, you can make a global impact. Understand that the future of our nation lies in your hands and we’re committed to supporting you every step of the way in realizing your full potential. Young people are the driving force behind sustainable development and your voices need to be heard loud and clear.”

The former President said he was ready to listen to the concerns of the youth to help shape their aspirations, the reason he was organising a meeting with them later in the night to hear their concerns.

“And this is why I’ve decided in addition to this function on International Youth Day to host the Mahama Youth Town Hall meeting later tonight at the Bukom Boxing Arena. Through this one-of-a-kind event, I will engage with young people directly and listen to your concerns and aspirations. Your vote as a young Ghanaian is not just a choice but is a powerful tool for shaping the future of our country.”
