Former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, has accused German-based Ghanaian brand influencer Tina Mensah of blackmail and character assassination, following her inclusion in a defamation suit involving the alleged circulation of nude videos.
Asiamah-Adjei denied any involvement in the alleged act and challenged Mensah to provide concrete evidence in court to support her claims.
“I have not received any official service of the suit,” Asiamah-Adjei stated, “but I’ve seen the writ being widely circulated on social media. I have therefore instructed my lawyers to file an appearance, and a full defence will follow in the coming days.”
The dispute stems from a suit filed by Mensah at the Accra High Court, in which she alleges that a nude video of her was secretly recorded and shared online without her consent. According to the writ, the video was captured by Abigail Kwarteng, who Mensah describes as a foster daughter to Asiamah-Adjei, during a visit to Kwarteng’s residence in Kumasi in February 2025.
Mensah claims the video, taken while she was exiting a bathroom, was sent directly to Asiamah-Adjei, before later surfacing on social media platforms including TikTok and Facebook. The plaintiff insists that both women maliciously circulated the footage, which she says has destroyed her career, cost her numerous brand contracts, and led to the breakdown of her engagement.
In her defence, Asiamah-Adjei vehemently rejected the claims, describing them as “unfounded and defamatory” and intended to tarnish her reputation for personal gain.

Asiamah-Adjei questioned the timing and motive behind the suit, arguing that the decision to rope her into what she sees as a private altercation between two individuals is an orchestrated attempt to inflict reputational damage.
According to the statement of claim filed by Mensah, the incident took place on 18 February 2025 during an argument with Kwarteng, who had accused her of visa fraud. The plaintiff says she was so shocked by the allegation that she rushed out of the bathroom unclothed, only to be filmed in that state. She claims Kwarteng admitted to filming the encounter and sending it to Asiamah-Adjei alone.
Mensah is seeking GH¢20 million in aggravated and general damages and is demanding an unqualified apology from both Kwarteng and Asiamah-Adjei. She also wants a declaration that the publication of the video was defamatory and a deliberate attempt to ruin her career and reputation.
The video’s release, she argues, has caused her immense emotional distress, costing her current contracts and damaging future prospects with brands she previously worked with as an influencer.
