Wenchi Young Apostles FC have gained promotion to the Ghana Premier League after beating Techiman Heroes 4-3 on penalties on Tuesday, June 4.
The Division One League’s Zone 1 Play-Off at the Accra Sports Stadium had ended 1-1 in full regulation time.
Young Apostles FC drew first blood before Heroes restored parity a few minutes later.
After those first-half goals, nothing separated the two sides.
It went straight to penalties after full regulation time.
Young Apostles emerged victorious as they secured the sole ticket from that zone to make it to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
They join Vision FC as the promoted clubs from Division One so far.
Basake Holy Stars are likely to be the third side as they head into the final round of matches on top of Zone 2.
