Augustus Andrews Nana Kwasi, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaians, particularly those in the Ashanti Region, for the party’s resounding victory in the 2024 elections.

Speaking on Ghanakoma morning show on Akoma 87.9fm in Kumasi with Sir John, on Tuesday, December 9,2025, to mark one year since the NDC and President Mahama’s victory, Nana Kwasi acknowledged the crucial role played by the people in the party’s success.

“Without the people, NDC would have still been in opposition,” he stated, stressing that the party’s victory was a result of the people’s trust and support.

He commended President Mahama’s commitment to development, highlighting the progress made in the Ashanti Region and the country as a whole.

The NDC Ashanti Regional Chairman specifically mentioned the President’s plans to complete the phase II of the Kejetia market project and the Krofrom market.

He also observed that President Mahama is working closely with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to construct 24hr economy markets to serve various districts.

Nana Kwasi commended the MMDCEs for their tireless efforts in ensuring the President’s vision is realized.

He expressed gratitude to Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, chiefs, clergy, and all stakeholders who contributed to the NDC’s victory.

In a festive spirit, Nana Kwasi urged traders to reduce prices of goods during the festive season, citing the government’s efforts to stabilize the cedi against the dollar.

“The President and his finance minister have done well by appreciating the cedi to the dollar, so prices of goods must be reduced to ensure that citizens benefit from the good work of the government,” he said.

The NDC Ashanti Regional Chairman’s comment on Akoma FM reflects the party’s commitment to continued development and its appreciation of the trust reposed in them by the people.
