The Commonwealth has been a home to both developing and developed countries since 1931 with a total of 56 member countries.
Members are countries that might have been colonised or have a special relation with the United Kingdom. It is home to one third of the world’s population, comprising of countries from Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Europe and the Americas.
Despite member countries relation with the united Kingdom, association is voluntary.
It organises one of the biggest sport competitions globally every four years.
