The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has urged the traditional leaders in the Ga land to unite for a common cause.
Unity, according to the Minister, is the only thing that will propel the development of the Ga nation and their indigenes.
The former Member of Parliament for Tema East made the comments during his speech at the grand durbar held for the 87th firing of musket festival –Asafotufiami 2024, at the Presbyterian School park at Bana Saturday, August 03, 2024.
According to the Minister, it was the first time two top chiefs in the region had attended the Ada festival together.
The Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II was there as Guest of Honour, with Oboade Notse Odaifio Welentsi III, Paramount Chief of the Nungua Traditional Area and Vice President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, also present.
Titus-Glover, who stood in for President Akufo-Addo who was supposed to grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour, speaking in the local dialect, Dangme, stated that the coming together of the two chiefs to the festival is a symbol of unity and uniting as one people is the surest way to development.
“This is the first time the two top chiefs in Ga have attended this festival together. If we come together, we can be strong as Ga Adangme,” he stated.
