The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has arrived in Botswana at the invitation of the Government to share Ghana’s experiences in the implementation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes.
Mr Iddrisu is participating in a two-day high-level engagement, taking place from July 10–11, 2025, aimed at advancing Botswana’s human capital development through strategic dialogue and regional collaboration.
“This visit reflects Ghana’s commitment to promoting skills development across the continent,” Iddrisu said upon arrival. “We believe that sharing our experiences in TVET implementation can support our sister nations in building resilient and future-ready workforces.”
The event will be officially opened by the President of Botswana, H.E. Duma Gideon Boko, and will bring together policymakers, educators, and development partners to explore best practices in technical and vocational training.
During his visit, the Education Minister is expected to highlight key milestones in Ghana’s TVET reform agenda and discuss ongoing efforts by the government to strengthen technical education.
“We have made significant progress in aligning TVET with industry needs, expanding access, and investing in modern infrastructure,” he noted. “Our goal is to equip young people with relevant skills, drive innovation, and create sustainable jobs.”
His participation underscores the growing recognition of regional cooperation in addressing skills gaps and promoting economic transformation through education.
