Ghana’s electoral processes is full of inconsistencies that needs to be addressed to guide further elections, leader of the New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Asare Bediako, also known as Cheddar, has asserted.

He says the inconsistencies are part of the reasons he had just a single vote at the polling centre where both he and his wife voted, dismissing the rumours that he did not vote for himself in the just-ended presidential election.

Cheddar, in his first media encounter after the polls on Monday, December 23, 2024, expressed grave concerns over these inconsistencies which he says could derail Ghana’s growing democracy if not addressed.

He has called for reforms in the electoral processes to build robust structures to enhance transparency, following the re-collation and re-declaration of results in some disputed constituencies after the December 07 polls.

Cheddar disclosed further that there were some polling station agents who were assigned to his movement which he was unaware.

“The point I am trying to make is, as a nation, don’t we get enough of destroying our own and lying? and yes my wife voted for me, and I voted for myself,” he stated.

“Our system is not the best system that can really support what we believe in as democracy and that is something that I believe that our leaders will start to look into it and fix it…It has more to do with us as a country but standing up and making sure that we are protected by a system which we have built with laws and governance to protect the nation,” he stated.
