The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has said that those saying the return of John Mahama is scary are the people with skeletons in their cupboard.

He has reemphasised the next NDC government’s resolve to hold members of the current administration accountable.

Reiterating a comment made by the flag bearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, at the party’s Manifesto launch at Winneba Sunday, August 24, 2024, Asiedu Nketia stated that if his party forms the next government after the December elections, all corrupt officials under this administration will be subjected to investigation and prosecuted.

He added that the NDC is unfazed by claims that the party represents a “scary alternative” to the NPP.

For the fear of being accountable for their deeds, Asiedu Nketia says the NPP is telling Ghanaians that the alternative is scary to deter people from voting the NDC to power.

Speaking to some NDC supporters at Somanya in the Eastern region Monday, August 26, 2024, he stated that it is those that want to avoid facing justice that are speaking ill of the NDC’s return to power.

“That is why President Mahama said in Winneba that the next NDC government will not act out of greed or mistreat Ghanaians for selfish interests.

“For those claiming that the alternative is scary, tell them that it is only scary for wrongdoers. If you are a thief or a criminal, the alternative should indeed be scary. Under our government, no corrupt individual will go unpunished,” he stated.
