The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has reiterated his call for justice for party faithful who lost their lives during the 2024 elections.
He said electoral violence is inimical to Ghana’s democratic efforts.
Mr Nketiah made the call when he addressed members of the NDC at the 47th anniversary celebration of the June 4 uprising Banda Ahenkro in the Bono Region on Thursday, June 4.
He urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take immediate and decisive action to apprehend all those responsible for the tragic incidents.
“There is the need for accountability and a commitment to upholding the rule of law. I urge the IGP to bring the perpetrators to book, ” he urged.

The Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang urged government officials and members of the NDC to maintain their focus on effectively implementing government policies.
In her address, Madam Opoku-Agyemang underscored the critical importance of unity in building a resilient nation, reflecting on the valuable lessons gleaned from this pivotal moment in Ghana’s history.
She called for collective effort and dedication among party members to uphold the ideals that the June 4 Uprising represents, emphasizing that these lessons remain relevant in navigating contemporary challenges.

Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), cautioned party members and political leaders alike against pursuing leadership roles purely motivated by personal ambition.
He emphasized the importance of prioritizing collective goals and the welfare of the party over individual aspirations, urging members to remain committed to the principles and values that define their political identity.
As part of the event, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang also led the ceremony to cut the sod for the construction of the Banda Inner Town roads.
