A crunch meeting between the chiefs in the Greater Tamale Metropolis and the youth is currently ongoing at the Palace of the paramount chief of Tamale.
The meeting is expected to consider a roadmap to ensure sanity between the youth and the police service.
The Northern Regional Security Council is also expected to meet to find a solution to the friction between the police and the youth.
Six (6) persons sustained various degrees of gunshot wounds following a confrontation between the police and the youth at the Tamale District Court Monday, August 28, 2023.
The youth besieged the premises of the court to demand the prosecution of Karim Osman an alleged drug lord.
The confrontation led to the arrest of 13 people with hundreds of motorbikes belonging to the youth also being seized.
