Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has said he is still prosecuting the ambulance purchase case despite the advice given to him by the presiding judge.
Mr. Dame, following an advice from the judge told journalists after the sitting Thursday, June 06, 2024, that “it was only an advice. I’m still prosecuting the case.”
Justice Afia Serwa Asare-Botwe, during the hearing on the ambulance purchase tiral Thursday, advised the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, to recuse himself from the matter over professional and prosecutorial misconduct.
This was after the court declined jurisdiction to order an inquiry and mistrial based on the prosecutorial misconduct of the Attorney-General.
But the A-G says an advice is not binding on him and he will not recuse himself.
The court, has, meanwhile, directed the Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, to seek redress at the appropriate forum, the General Legal Council, if so minded.
