Ghana have moved four places up the latest FIFA men’s rankings released on Thursday, June 20.
Ghana moved from the 68th place to 64th in the world rankings.
They also moved, albeit two places, from 14th to 12th on the African continent.
The latest improvement by the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists is attributed to the sterling performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
The Black Stars came from a goal down to beat Mali at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako and also rallied from 2-1 down in the first half to beat CAR 4-3 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Nigeria’s poor run in the qualifiers, clinching only a point from a possible six in their recent games, saw them drop eight places from 30th to 38th position.
Argentina continue to lead the pack, with France, Belgium, Brazil and England – in that particular order – making the Top 5.
Morocco lead in Africa, moving to 12th in the world, two behind their highest ever ranking in 1998.
