Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has urged the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to own up to the economic quagmire the country is currently battling.
He wants his party to acknowledge the hardships facing Ghanaians and tell them how they will work things out should the people renew the party’s mandate.
This, according to the 2024 flag bearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, should be a key element in the party’s campaign as the 2024 elections beckons.
Speaking at the launch of the NPP Ablekuma South Constituency election campaign, Kennedy Agyapong emphasised the need for unity to ensure the party’s victory in the December 7 polls.
He reemphasised the need to admit the challenges saying it is the only the people will accept the message of the NPP.
“Let’s go out there with humility, apologise to Ghanaians, and admit your mistakes before you can convince anybody to vote for you. If we ignore the hardships Ghanaians are going through, they will never accept what we are saying.
“You first have to admit that there are hardships, let’s give NPP another chance, and I know we have all learnt our lessons.
He reiterated the need for all to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to help the NPP ‘break the 8’.
“We are all not going to sit back, we will all support Dr Bawumia [NPP flagbearer] to win,” Kennedy Agyapong advised.
