Two out of the three complainants who secured an injunction on the independent candidature of Agona West Member of Parliament, Cynthia Mamle Morrison, have stormed the Agona Swedru Magistrate Court to demand their names to be expunged from the case.

The two, Harrison Kwame Aglago and Solomon Nyarko, have said they withdrew from the matter about two weeks ago after realising their case is of no merit.

However, they said they were surprised to see their names amongst the complainant(s) when the case was held.

In an interview with Onua News’ Central regional correspondent, Joseph Cobbinah, Harrison Agaglo, indicated that when they visited the court to find out why their names were still on the matter after withdrawing, he said the court said it was a mistake and promised to get it rectified for them.

“Initially I was part of the whole thing but later I withdrew so I was surprised that injunction was given and my name was part of the list. That’s where I have a problem because I withdrew from the case two weeks ago so I didn’t expect that my name should be in so I came to the court to find out and I was told that it was a mistake so my name will definitely be removed. Myself and Solo,” he explained.

“We told them we brought the case but we are no more pursuing it. So on  Monday we heard that our names have been mentioned so we came for them to take our names out,” he added.

On his part, Solomon Nyarko explained that they took that decision to create disaffection between Madam Morrison and the NPP parliamentary candidate, Chris Arthur, so they could win the supporters of the MP to the side of their candidate, should the court uphold their prayer.

“We are three brothers from the NDC and decided that when the woman (NDC PC) won, she thinks we don’t like her so we decided to create a confusion between Chris and her (Cynthia Morrison) so that her people would come and support her (NDC PC). So later we were told it wouldn’t yield any results so we decided to withdraw the case. The NDC has no hand in it. It was between the three of us,” he explained.
