The Vice President and flag bearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has said he will not empower Fulani herdsmen to perpetuate crimes if he becomes President.
He has refuted the allegations indicating the assertion is a propaganda by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to create disaffection for him.
According to Bawumia, he has no intentions of empowering Fulani herdsmen to destroy farmlands because they are his in-laws.
He told residents of Ejura Sekyedumase in the Ashanti region Wednesday, November 13, 2024, that there is no way his administration will encourage lawlessness among the Fulbe people.
The Head of Ghana’s Economic Management Team indicated that he will ensure the laws are applied equally to all manner of persons in his administration, irrespective of where one is coming from.
The Vice President solicited for their votes to bring them what he calls real development.
“Now the NDC is running propaganda that my reign will permit Fulanis to destroy the farmlands, but that will never happen, it’s all propaganda we will never allow it to happen.
“The law will deal with each and everybody. So please don’t listen to such propaganda that we will allow the Fulani to destroy your farmlands.
“They will be arrested if they are caught. We are bringing Development with benefits to the town. Give me the power and you will testify to that,” he stated.
