Ghana goes to the polls in five days time to elect 276 parliamentary representatives across the country, and President who will lead the Executive in the next four years.

But prior to the main exercise on Saturday, December 07, 2024, the Electoral Commission is organising a special voting exercise for persons in the security services, media and other institutions whose responsibilities will not allow them to partake in the exercise on Saturday.

But before going to the polls to cast your ballot, here are ten things to note before and after the elections.

1. Confirm your polling station details, if you’ve not done so already, via *711*51#
2. ⁠Go to your polling station, even if you don’t have your voters ID card
3. ⁠Join the queue in an orderly manner
4. ⁠Respect instructions of the presiding officer at all times
5. ⁠Go through the verification process
6. ⁠when you receive the ballot paper, check the back to confirm that it has official validation stamp at the back
7. ⁠Make your choice in secrecy. It is an offence to reveal your choice or take a photo of your choice.
8. ⁠Cast your ballot and leave the polling station. Fold the ballot vertically after voting.
9. ⁠You can observe proceedings from a distance away from the polling station
10. ⁠You can go home and return after 5pm to observe the counting and results declaration.
