The Ghana Police Service has started an investigation into an alleged attack on the convoy of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, in Techiman, the Bono East regional capital on Monday, December 02, 2024.
Preliminary reports from the Ghana Police Service indicates the Asantehene’s convoy was attacked on his return from a funeral from Nkoranza.
On his way, some youth believed to be from Techiman, reportedly threw stones at some buses within the convoy, causing disruption in the process.
In a statement issued by the police Tuesday, December 03, 2024, it said it is working closely with the Manhyia Palace and relevant stakeholders in Techiman to arrive at the facts on the matter.
They therefore urged the public to remain calm and cooperate fully with the ongoing probe.
