President Akufo-Addo’s last-minute commissioning of projects will not have any impact on the elections as voters have demonstrated through election surveys that their votes will not be influenced by such developments.

According to Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, politicians have not taken any cue from previous incidents making them embark on last-minute projects with the intent of hoodwinking the public for votes.

Commenting on whether the recent projects commissioned by President Akufo-Addo would have any impact on the polls or not, Mussa Dankwa said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) whilst in government did same in 2016 but did not reflect in their votes.

Speaking on Onua TV’s Ghana Decides 2024 Friday, December 06, 2024, he said his outfit asked some voters in the early part of the year if last-minute projects will determine the direction of their votes or otherwise.

But, he told Captain Smart, host of the election coverage that 80% of the respondents noted that they were not going to be influenced by final day projects.

He revealed that only 20% of the respondents said their votes would be based on such projects. However, these persons are those who are supporters of the party in government.

“I wish they have learnt lessons but they don’t as we have realised. We saw what NDC did in 2016, it’s the same thing NPP is doing right now. And indeed we asked the voters sometime early this year that if government embarks on projects very late in their term, will that influence your vote for that government? Overwhelmingly no, 80%.

“So, if they had any lesson to learn, they would have learnt from that polling data. Only 20% said they would vote for you because you have done something the last year and those people are mainly your party supporters,” he disclosed.
