President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to recall all Diplomatic and Service passports issued to citizens by the previous administration.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, he asked the Chief Director at the Ministry to issue a public notice to holders of the passports, set a deadline for compliance and conduct verification.

In the Tuesday, January 14, 2025 statement, Dr. Mahama said “this exercise aligns with the Government’s commitment to ensuring the proper use and administration of official travel documents by national and international standards.”

The statement added that “the recall alms to prevent the misuse, safequard the country’s reputation and maintain the integrity of our diplomatic engagements.”
