Vice Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) John Kofi Ansah has been elected as the new chairman of the Association for the next four years.

John Ansah beat closest contender Isaac Koomson to win Thursday’s highly-contested elections.

He polled 96 votes as against Mr Koomson’s 35 to win the elections, held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

There was one rejected ballot.

In the other positions, Phyllis Marku Mon ar polled 94 votes to beat Nana Amankwah (34) to the Vice Chairmanship position.

Gabriel Godwin garnered 24 votes to beat Isaac Gasper (7) to become the representative for the regional football associations (RFAs) while Accra representative of Bibiani Gold Stars Fred Tindan beat competition from two others to become the Ghana Premier League rep.

GHALCA has been headed in the last decade by former AshantiGold SC President Cudjoe Fianoo.

Fianoo decided not to seek reelection after his last tenure.
