President John Dramani Mahama has appointed a 12-member Governing Board for the Bank of Ghana (BoG) following the swearing-in of its Governor and 1st Deputy Governor on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
In a statement signed and issued by the Minister of Government Communications and Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu Wednesday, February 26, he noted that the appointment was made in fulfillment of a provision in the constitution.
“President John Dramani Mahama has, in consultation with the Council of State and in accordance with Article 70(1)(d)(iii) of the Constitution and Section 8 of the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612) as amended by the Bank of Ghana (Amendment) Act, 2016 (Act 918),” portions of the statement contained.
Appointed together with the Governor, Dr. Johnson Pandit Kwesi Asiama, who chairs the Board, are Thomas Ampem Nyarko, Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Zakari Mumuni, the 1st Deputy Governor, Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, and a host of others.
