The Barea of Madagascar have jumped to the top of Group I in FIFA World Cup qualifying after a 4-1 thrashing of Central African Republic on Wednesday.

Despite taking an early lead through Hugo Gambor, Les Fauves found themselves behind in less than 20 minutes.

Two quick goals by Ryan Raveloson ensured that the Barea went into the break with their tails in front.

Barely five minutes into the second half, Arnaud Randrianantenaina extended the lead while Lalaina got a last minute goal to end the game 4-1.

The win sends Madagascar to the top with 10 points while Comoros and Ghana drop to second and third respectively but on nine points apiece.

Both countries have a game in hand.

Comoros will host Mali on Thursday, March 20 while Ghana host Chad a day later.

After those round of matches, Madagascar and Ghana will face off at the Stade Mimoun Al Arsi in Morocco on Monday while Comoros host Chad the following day.
