The final squad of the Black Stars for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be released on Monday, June 1, according to the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku announced after the team’s 0-2 loss to Mexico in a friendly match that all is set for the announcement.

All of Ghana’s group opponents except Panama have announced their squads, heightening expectations from fans regarding Carlos Queiroz’s squad.

“Objective accomplished,” Mr Simeon-Okraku wrote after Friday’s loss.

“This event has provided significant stage exposure for the majority of our U-23 players, who will soon assemble for the Olympic qualifiers, as well as other players who had limited playing time,” he added.

“The World Cup squad announcement is scheduled for June 1st. Let’s maintain our collective support for our stars.”

Despite conviction that Carlos Queiroz was going to use the latest match to assess some fringe players, he was absent, citing “personal reasons”.
