Black Stars Head Coach Carlos Queiroz will not be on the bench on Friday, May 22 when the team takes on Mexico in a friendly match.
His absence is due to personal reasons, according to the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
As a result, Assistant Coach Desmon Sakyi Ofei will take charge of the game at Puebla.
The former Black Satellites Head Coach had supervised the team’s training since opening camp in the Mexican city.
He is expected to be assisted by goalkeepers’ trainer Daniel Gaspar and set-piece coach/video analyst Gregory De Grauwe.
This will be Ghana’s penultimate preparatory game for the 2026 FIFA World Cup though authorities are arranging an extra game.
