Former Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions striker Eric Bekoe has named the toughest defender he played against in the domestic league.

To him, many mention Dan Coleman as the toughest defender he played against but he says the big Hearts of Oak defender was not the most difficult opponent for him.

The former Liberty Professionals player said Coleman was his senior because they both played at Mighty Jets and it was through him that he later joined the Scientific Soccer lads in Dansoman.

Speaking on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Thursday, April 3, the former Sekondi Hasaacas forward said the toughest defender he played against is Daniel Addo of King Faisal Babes.

“Daniel Addo was a super defender,” he told host Alfred Takyi Mensah.

“Because of Daniel Addo, I was never able to score against King Faisal Babes,” he confessed.

Daniel Addo was a member of the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup-winning squad.

He was red-carded in the final game against Brazil for a professional foul.

He later plied his trade for AshantiGold SC before playing in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, India, Cyprus and Turkey.

Bekoe commended the scouts in 2009 for including Addo in the Black Satellites squad, pointing out that Ghana would have won the final in regulation time if the defender still played.
