Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced former coach and player Abdul Karim Zito as their new coach.

The Dreams FC Head Coach will act in the role until a substantive coach is appointed, the club said in a statement on Tuesday, April 22.

Karim Zito will, however, act as the club’s Technical Director, a position held by another former player Malik Jabir.

Jabir has been appointed the Technical Advisor, providing strategic guidance to support the club’s long-term objectives.

The announcements come barely a day after the club parted ways with Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Both parties had a “shared understanding” that the decision was right at the time in the interest of the club.

His replacement, Karim Zito, will be assisted by Prince Y. Owusu.

Known for his work in player development, Coach Owusu has nurtured talents who have gone on to play for top clubs including AC Milan, Genoa, Sassuolo, and Fiorentina.

“These appointments are part of Asante Kotoko’s renewed commitment to building a strong, visionary technical structure aimed at sustained competitive success,” the club’s statement on Tuesday concluded.
