Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Bimbo Ademoye has cautioned television stations in Ghana not to illegally broadcasting her films without authorisation.

Her statement adds to the concerns raised by Nigerian filmmakers such as Ruth Kadiri and Omoni Oboli over what appears to be a recurring pattern of copyright infringement by some Ghanaian media outlets.

In a video that was shared on her Instagram page, Bimbo Ademoye expressed strongly cautioned against the continued use of her intellectual property without
consent.

The actress disclosed that she initially sought a collaborative approach, hoping to engage in discussions with the stations involved.

However, she stated that repeated violations and lack of accountability have led her to withdraw any willingness to negotiate.

“That TV station in Ghana, I’m talking to you, don’t show my movies. I haven’t given you permission. Before, I used to say, ‘At least come to me, let’s discuss and share,’ but now, I don’t want your money. Don’t show my movies,” she stated.

The actress threatened to take the issue to the appropriate authorities if the unlawful airing persisted.

Ademoye not only slammed TV stations but also blasted a number of YouTube channels, such as Ayodeji Films, Nolly Specials, and Nollynew Series, for misleading audiences with her movie titles and advertising photos.

Bimbo Ademoye went on to accuse these YouTube platforms of content theft, saying that they frequently utilize her name and likeness to entice viewers to see irrelevant content.

In a strongly worded caption accompanying her video, she vowed to protect the integrity of her work.

“Let the battle begin. I will not let anyone profit off my blood, sweat, and sleepless nights,” she added.
