MTN Ghana has confirmed that a recent cybersecurity incident has affected the data of approximately 5,700 of its customers.
In a press release issued on April 28, 2025, MTN Group stated that while their platforms remain fully operational, they are taking the matter seriously and are closely monitoring the situation.
According to the release, MTN is currently working with cybersecurity experts to conduct a thorough forensic investigation to assess the full impact of the incident. The company emphasized that the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its systems are paramount to its operations and customer service.
MTN Ghana has assured its customers that the privacy of their information is a top priority. The company is committed to safeguarding the integrity of its systems and maintaining the trust placed in them by customers and stakeholders. MTN plans to contact the affected customers directly.
