Ghana’s most notorious armed robber, Adinda Akpo Abdou Moudjibou, has been arrested.
The gangster was arrested in Togo through an INTERPOL Red Notice after evading arrest for over a year.
According to the Director General of Police CID, DCOP Lydia Yaakor Donkor, Adinda Akpo Abdou Moudjibou alias Mohammed Djandjo was responsible for high profile armed robbery cases in elite communities including East Legon, Cantonments, Ridge, Adjringanor, Tesano, Airport Residential Area as well as settlements within the Greater Accra metropolis between 2022 and 2024.
Police launched search for the suspect in 2023 after intelligence proved that he has fled the jurisdiction.
Reports further indicated that Moudjibou committed the crimes alongside Alidu Marzouk a.k.a Rashid Bawa.
However, Marzouk was earlier arrested in Ghana in September last year after one of their high profile operations targeting elite communities.
Police report revealed that suspect Moudjibou has both Ghanaian and Togolese identification documents.
The Adabraka District Court on September 5, 2024 issued a warrant for his arrest which was followed through with an Interpol red notice.
On may 14, 2025 a five-member delegation led by the Director General of Police CID, DCOP Lydia Yaakor Donkor were in Lome-Togo to receive the suspect and bring him to Ghana after due processes have been followed through.
According to her, “intelligence gathered further confirmed that suspect Moudjibou was hiding in Togo. In view of this, Interpol Accra requested the assistance of Interpol Lome to locate and apprehend the suspect.”
“Through sustained collaboration and intelligence work, the Togolese authorities successfully arrested suspect Moudjibou,” she added.
Further investigations and subsequent prosecution of the duo has since commenced in Ghana while efforts are underway to apprehend other suspects linked to the gang.
