The Member of Parliament for Yunyoo-Nansua District Alhassan Sulemana has raised an urgent alarm regarding the dire state of development within his district.

He highlighted a troubling trend of political selfishness that he believes has significantly hindered progress in the area. According to him, Yunyoo-Nansua remains one of the most deprived districts in Ghana, having witnessed no substantial infrastructure improvements over the past years.

Yunyoo-Nansua, the smallest district in the North East Region of Ghana, shares its boundaries with the Northern Region and is renowned for its rich agricultural land. This fertile expanse has the potential to yield a variety of crops, making farming the backbone of the local economy. However, despite its agricultural promise, Yunyoo-Nansua remains one of the most deprived areas in the country, suffering from a lack of basic infrastructure that has hindered its growth and development.

The district is plagued by inadequate roads that limit access to markets and essential services, a pressing absence of healthcare facilities, and insufficient educational resources that leave many children without proper schooling. These infrastructural deficiencies have created significant barriers for residents, making their daily lives more challenging.

Once part of the Bunkprugu Yunyoo District, Yunyoo-Nansua was established as a separate entity but continues to face daunting developmental hurdles. Speaking to 3news, the Member of Parliament for the area, Alhassan Sulemana voiced his deep concerns about the ongoing neglect of the district.

“We have not seen a single project that can uplift our community in the past years,” he lamented, calling for urgent attention and action to address these pressing issues.

As the youngest MP in the region, Sulemana Alhassan is passionate about driving meaningful change. He urged the community to trust in his leadership and to believe in his vision for the future.

“I am not sleeping in Parliament, I want my constituents to believe in me. In fact, they will not regret for giving me the mandate to be their MP, they will see things they have never seen” he proclaimed, emphasizing his commitment to breaking the cycle of neglect and cultivating a shared vision of progress.

With a strong determination to foster hope and a brighter future for Yunyoo-Nansua, he appeals for collective action to tackle the challenges that have long stifled the district’s potential.
