New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, has apologised on behalf of the party for its governance from 2017 to 2024.
He has acknowledged that despite the party’s best efforts to serve Ghanaians, they didn’t get everything right during their time in power.
If Ghanaians vote for the NPP again, the mistakes they committed, according to Kodua, will not be repeated.
“As a political party, certainly we did our best, but we couldn’t have gotten everything right,” he said on Accra-based Channel One TV on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
“And I have always said that on behalf of our then government, our political party — certain things that we could not do right — we apologise for it,” the former Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Authority (YEA), apologised.
Following its poor performance in the last elections, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has constituted a committee to investigate the reasons behind its defeat.
The committee has made recommendations, which the party is implementing to strengthen its position ahead of the next elections.
However, the party has decided to hold its presidential primary before grassroots and national elections, a move that has raised concerns among some members.
Despite this, Kodua Frimpong says the NPP will build on its past successes and learn from its mistakes.
“As a party, we are always ready to learn and make sure that when we come back to power, the good things that we did we will build on. And those mistakes that we made — we will not repeat those mistakes,” he stated.
