Popular dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has responded to critics who claim he’s involved in fraudulent schemes.

Following news of the arrests of several Ghanaian ‘businessmen’ allegedly involved in romance and inheritance scams, a video shared on X show Shatta Wale defending his source of income.

Among those arrested by the FBI is Isaac Kofi Oduro Boateng, also known as Kofi Boat, an acclaimed business associate of Shatta Wale.

This development has caused social media users to speculate about Shatta Wale’s possible involvement in the matter.

However, in the video shared on X, Shatta Wale vehemently denied the rumors, claiming that he was being unfairly targeted.

Shatta Wale asserted that his wealth is from music and not fraud. He noted that the allegations are motivated by jealousy and comparisons to other musicians who have not achieved the same degree of success as him.

“You people are watching my life, and anytime there is an issue in Ghana, you like to drag me into it.

“You guys are making a mistake with my name. I am a very clean boy. Just because your artiste, your industry favourite, cannot pull the kind of things I can pull, you assume I am into fraud. You are free to tell people I am into fraud.

“One thing the white people coming here do is that they research. They are not stupid. They saw my Rolls-Royce and knew how I acquired the funds to purchase it. It’s music money. It’s not fraud; it’s hard work and dedication. So don’t make a mistake,” he said.
