Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC have parted ways with goalkeeper Frederick Asare after three years.

The contract of the captain is said to have expired at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The club announced the departure of their captain on Thursday, June 19.

“Fredrick Asare leaves the club following the expiration of his contract,” Asante Kotoko posted on X, formerly Twitter.

“We wish Fred the very best for the future.”

Fred Asare’s career with the Porcupine Warriors saw him gain call-up into the Black Stars and handed the iconic No. 10 jersey at one time.

His career was, however, recently plagued by injuries, making Guinean Mohammed Camara keep the post in his absence.

The club has also announced the departure of Michael Kyei Dwamena after the expiration of his contract.

Reports says more players will be plaid off to prepare a combative squad for the CAF Confederation Cup campaign in the 2025/26 season as well as challenge for the Ghana Premier League.
