Ghanaian artiste and self-acclaimed “Prince of Highlife” has hinted at diving into a new genre of music in the shape of Afro-highlife which will accompany his soon-to-be released songs.
The seasoned artist has been in the news lately after labelling himself as the heir apparent of highlife music. There have been diverging opinions on his statement.
Speaking to Tony Best on Wednesday, July 2 on Akoma Mmre on Akoma FM in Kumasi, the “Anadwo Yede” hitmaker revealed that he has not taken a break but he is planning to release new songs however he is rekindling his style of Afro-highlife.
“I am very much active in music except that my career took a nose-dive after my accident. I was recovering and thankfully enough I have announced my presence again, Very soon I will be releasing new songs”.
“My style of highlife has always been different from what people used to know from Daddy Lumba and the rest. People should watch out for my Afro-highlife style”, he echoed.
K.K. Fosu opined that there is not much difference between Afro-beat and Highlife, indicating is only the rhythm. The only new artists that must seek to do is to take advantage of social media and take marketing seriously.
