District Chief Executive of Sekyere Kumawu in the Ashanti Region, Akwasi Amankwah, has taken a significant step toward empowering local farmers with the Feed Ghana programme.
He rallied individuals, churches, schools, and others to join the programme to reduce the country’s high import rate.
The government has commenced processes to roll out the flagship Feed Ghana programme to reduce food imports, create jobs, and boost food security.
In a Facebook post on July 5, the Sekyere Kumawu District Chief Executive, Akwasi Amankwah (Tom C), said the Assembly would soon establish Farm service centres in all areas or sub metros in the district to enable farmers, individuals and interested institutions to access essential farm inputs such as fertilizers, seeds, extension services and others for the smooth take off of the programme.

“In a heartfelt and engaging session, I led the dissemination of vital information about the initiative to our dedicated farmers, showcasing my unwavering commitment to uplifting the agricultural community. With my humility and passion for public service, I emphasize the importance of sustainable farming and food security for our beloved district,” he posted.
Mr Amankwah added “The Feed Ghana Program aims to enhance crop production, ensure food availability, and improve the livelihoods of farmers in Seyere Kumawu. Together, we can build a stronger agricultural base that not only nourishes our families but also boosts our local economy.
The enthusiasm in the room was palpable as farmers engaged with the new strategies and resources available to them. This program is a testament to the potential that lies within our community when we work hand in hand for a better future.”
“Let’s rally together to support our farmers and ensure the success of the Feed Ghana Program! Together, we can cultivate a brighter tomorrow for Sekyere Kumawu and beyond,” the DCE urged.
