Prices of fuel products have gone up effective today, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, with some oil marketing companies already selling at these increased prices.
GOIL, a major player in the industry, is now selling a litre of petrol for GH₵12.88 from its old price of GH₵12.07. Diesel has gone up from GH₵13.20 to GH₵14.38.
Star Oil, another industry kingpin, has raised its prices, selling a litre of petrol for GH₵12.59. That notwithstanding, some of its service stations will be selling the product at GH₵11.99.
The company is also selling Diesel at an increased price of GH₵13.99 while some of its stations will be selling it at GH₵13.79.
Some marketing companies will also be adjusting their prices later today.
According to these operators, the price hike is due to the application of the one cedi fuel levy on the prices of diesel and petrol being effected today, July 16, 2025.
Dr. Riverson Oppong, Chief Executive of the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies, on Accra-based JoyNews noted that fuel prices would have seen some 2 per cent price reduction had it not been the implementation of the fuel levy.
