At Zabzugu in the Zabzugu district of the Northern region, a 15-year-old boy identified as Abukari, has drowned in the Zabzugu Dam.
The boy’s body was recovered from the Dam on Sunday, July 20, after extensive search operation.
Reports indicate the boy was drowned on Saturday, July 19, 2025, while the deceased was returning from the farm with his mother.
Upon arrival at the dam site, he was asked by the mother to fetch her some water to drink, according to reports.
But, Abukari in an unexpected turn, the boy decided to dive into the dam. Unfortunately, he drowned in the process, and his body could not be found immediately.
A two-day intensive search was launched, with the help of fishermen brought in from neighbouring communities. Their efforts eventually paid off when the body was discovered late Sunday evening.
