The former Mayor of Accra and current Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, has expressed his support for education in Ghana by endorsing a strategic partnership between the Accra College of Education and Voorhees College in the United States.
Alfred Oko Vanderpuije expressed his support for the partnership, emphasizing the importance of education in Ghana’s development.
“I will look for sponsorship for them so that their exchanges can take place,” he pledged.
The partnership between the Accra College of Education and Voorhees College is a significant step towards enhancing the quality of education in Ghana. With the support of former Mayor Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, this collaboration is expected to have a positive impact on the country’s education sector.
This partnership aims to enhance the quality of education in Ghana through collaborative research, student exchange programs, and faculty development.

Both institutions will work together on research projects, publications, and grant applications in areas of mutual interest.
The partnership will also support faculty development, enabling educators from both institutions to share knowledge and best practices.
Also, students from both colleges will have the opportunity to participate in exchange programs, broadening their academic and cultural experiences.

The Principal of the Accra College of Education, Professor Samuel Awinkene Atintono, expressed his excitement over the partnership, highlighting the potential benefits for students and faculty.
“We are excited about this partnership. It’s focused on staff and student exchange. And this partnership we build with the university aims at making sure our students can benefit from what Voorhees University has and what we also have,” he said.
