A man believed to be in his 50s, has been shot and killed by armed robbers, with his son, in his 20s, also in critical condition after they were attacked on the Bole-Bamboi highway.
The man, identified as Balenbogma, was attacked with his son around 6:30pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Taselema, a community along the Techiman – Wa route.
The duo, according to reports, were travelling for the burial and funeral of their late mother at Lawra from Sunyani.
Some eyewitnesses, including commercial drivers told Accra-based Adom FM that the robbers have been attacking people due to the poor nature of the road which makes the road usage difficult for commuters.
They want government to urgently address the bad state of the road to avoid the rampant robberies and accidents on the stretch.
It is reported that some of the robbers can go as far as raping some female passengers who become their robbery victims.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Taselema Polyclinic mortuary, while the injured son is receiving treatment at the same facility.
