A vehicle was engulfed in flames on Friday night at the University of Ghana campus, triggering a response from Fire Service personnel.

The Legon Fire Station said it received a distress call at 10:17 pm on Friday about a vehicular fire on campus and dispatched an appliance within a minute.

A statement issued by the Ghana National Fire Service on July 28, 2025 said the fire was already in progress when the crew arrived.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the car severely damaged, with the entire engine compartment and interior totally engulfed in flames.

“The crew responded with precision and urgency,” the GNFS noted.

The team managed to bring the blaze under control within four minutes, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties or endangering passers-by.

No injuries were reported, but the vehicle was severely damaged. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
