Tsonam Cleanse Akpeloo, the dynamic CEO of Suku Technologies, has been named CEO of the Year (SME) at the prestigious Ghana CEO Awards held on Friday 25th July, 2025 in Accra.

The award, which celebrates outstanding leadership and innovation in the business community, was presented by Mr. Zia Choudhury, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ghana.

Under Akpeloo’s leadership, Suku Technologies has emerged as a leading force in the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Ghana and the wider West African sub-region.

The company has supported thousands of SMEs to adopt digital tools to enhance operational efficiency, ensure business continuity, and build long-term resilience in the face of economic disruptions.

A major milestone in this mission was Suku Technologies’ role in a groundbreaking initiative carried out in partnership with the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) and Expertise France, with funding from the European Union.

Through this project, Suku Technologies helped accelerate digital adoption among SMEs by providing tailored technology solutions, training programs, and strategic support; empowering business owners to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.

Beyond his role at Suku Technologies, Akpeloo is an influential voice in Ghana’s private sector ecosystem.

He serves as a National Council Member and Accra Regional Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), where he champions innovation, policy advocacy, youth entrepreneurship, and digital inclusion.

His work has positioned him as a bridge between the technology sector and traditional industries, helping to foster collaboration and modernization across sectors.

Tsonam is also making an impact at the continental level. He currently serves as the Chairperson for the Trade and Industry Cluster of the African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council (AU ECOSOCC).

In this role, he contributes to shaping policies and frameworks that promote intra-African trade, digital entrepreneurship, and industrial development, in alignment with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agenda.

After receiving the award, Akpeloo expressed gratitude to his team, partners, and the ecosystem that has enabled Suku Technologies to grow from a local startup into a regional powerhouse for SME digital enablement.

“This recognition is not just a personal honor, but a reflection of the work our team has done to help businesses navigate digital transformation. In today’s world, resilience is digital and SMEs are the backbone of our economy,” he said.

As Ghana and the rest of Africa push for economic recovery and transformation, leaders like Tsonam Akpeloo are proving that the future belongs to those who empower others through technology, vision, and purpose-driven innovation.
