Legendary Hiplife musician Reggie Rockstone has commented on the fire outbreak which affected his popular food business, Rockz Waakye.

The tragedy occurred at the at the Accra Tourist Information Centre in the early hours of August 4, 2025 where his food business is located.

The incident affected his popular food business, Rockz Waakye, which operates on the exact premises as the Accra Tourist Information Centre opposite Afrikiko.

Speaking after the incident in a video shared on his Instagram page, Reggie Rockstone appreciated the support he has received from the general public since news of the fire broke.

Despite the severe damage, the veteran musician expressed gratitude for life, noting that only the material things were destroyed with no injuries or human life lost.

In addition, he commended the Ghana National Fire Service for their prompt action, pointing out that the officers tried their best to salvage the situation in spite of criticism from some quarters of society.

Operations at Rockz Waakye will be temporarily suspended as management determines the extent of the damage and prepare to reopen.

“We would like to begin by thanking all the love that’s being shown. I mean it’s been amazing people coming from everywhere far and wide to come and show love. Yes, there has been a fire, a pretty devastating fire.

“The good news is that no human being was harmed. Material stuff we don’t take with us when we check out so we give praise to God for this. As far as the damage, pretty heavy but we would like to take this time now to thank the Ghana Fire Service,” Reggie Rockstone stated.

A fire broke out at the Accra Tourist Information Centre in the early hours of Monday, August 4, around 1:00 a.m., with initial reports suggesting that the blaze started from the kitchen area of Rockz Waakye, a popular food vendor operating within the premises.

The exact cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.

However, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded swiftly, arriving with five fire tenders to contain and extinguish the flames.

No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and more details are expected to emerge.
