MTN FA Cup champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been drawn to play Nigerian side Kwara United for a place in the next round of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

The draw for the preliminary round was held on Saturday, August 9 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The Ghana Premier League giants will host the first leg on Sunday, September 21 with the second leg slated for a week later.

The winner will face off with Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, who were among the six teams to have drawn bye in the draw, for a place in the group phase.

Asante Kotoko are returning to the continent after three years of absence.

They failed to advance from the preliminary round of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League after losing on penalties to Burkina Faso’s Rail Club du Kadiogo.

Kwara Utd qualified for the second-tier after beating Abakaliki FC on penalties in the maiden President’s Federation Cup.
