‎The Western Region is shrouded in grief following the tragic loss of eight brave men. In tribute, traditional leaders, the Western Regional Coordinating Council, security services, and students have organized a candlelight vigil to honor their memory.

‎”Let this loss be a turning point, not just a moment of grief. Each of us must rise to protect our lands, uplift our people, and foster the unity that makes us strong. ‎By doing so, we’ll honor the fallen heroes’ courage and keep their legacy alive, ensuring their sacrifice isn’t in vain.

‎ As leaders in the Western Region, we pledge to do our part in upholding their spirit and advancing the cause they stood for,” the Chief said.

‎Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, Garrison Commander and Takoradi Air Force Commander, described the fallen heroes as not only skilled aviators but also dedicated public servants, whose absence will be deeply felt. He vowed to cherish their memories.

‎”We’ve lost not just skilled aviators and dedicated public servants, but sons, husbands, colleagues, and brothers.  ‎Their absence will be deeply felt, and their memories will stay with us forever. ‎ As we light candles and pray, let us also acknowledge their ultimate sacrifice with reverence and gratitude,” he said.
